Passing on my Passion: Journey to Better Living

Four years ago, my life as I knew it was completely uprooted and flipped upside down. My marriage had just ended and the responsibility of being a single mother was whacking me in the face like, well, my now dinosaur of a toddler. My self-esteem was at an all-time low, and my sense of self pretty much nonexistent.

But this blog isn't about all of that. This blog is about how I picked up the pieces and reclaimed control of my life and my happiness. It's about how I came to love myself again, about learning the importance of nourishing my body and spirit through fitness, food, and my passion for makeup artistry. But most importantly, this blog is about inspiring you to do the very same.

We'll start by focusing on two themes: Fitness & Beauty.

Fitness-related posts will be published every Monday under the tag "Mission: Fit Monday." These Monday posts will serve to motivate you to get a head start on your week. I'll be sharing tips and advice on topics ranging from quick & effective home workouts and killer power-lifting movements, to macro-friendly recipes and cheat meals worth splurging on. I will also feature industry professionals specializing in a variety of training styles from functional movement to martial arts training. My goal is to offer different perspectives so no matter where you are in your fitness journey, you can adapt something you read here to custom fit your lifestyle.

Then, we'll wind down the week and indulge with beauty on Fridays. Here, you can expect to find posts detailing my must-have beauty products, step-by-step makeup tutorials, and tips on how to feel beautiful on the inside, too. Don't feel pressured into spending your money on the products I mention, but do rest assured I'll only suggest products I've tried myself and that I'm confident will give you the most bang for your buck. My aim is to give you that confidence you'll achieve when you feel like you look your best.

Thank you so much for your interest in my journey. I hope you'll stay for the fun, and learn something along the way!

  2. Hey Sarah,
Its Estef. I was being nosey on your instagram and was blown away by your make up artistry. You look great and I hope you are doing okay. Im sorry you went through so much but I hope your blog comes along. You always had a beautiful way of articulating your words. keep it up hun

    Best xo

    1. Estefany, thank you so much! I remember when you used to put makeup on me when we were younger, so maybe you planted the seed! Hope you're doing well.

  3. Hey Sarah I guess the previous commented deleted by accident. Yes I remember the days when we thought eyeliner was very cool. I'm glad I don't wear blue and crazy eyeshadow anymore. Hun can you write a piece on how to transform the way we think of our bodies. how to feed ourselves with love instead of body shaming. I think it would b good to hear your insight on it. I struggled with bulimia for years and I'm learning to accept my body but there's days when it's hard. But I'm just taking it day by day. 😀

    1. Estefany, of course. I would love to write about how I personally develop self-love and self-worth (it's a ongoing process). And if it helps you and other women do the same, well, I would have achieved my goal with this blog. Thanks so much for the suggestion, and I'll let you know once it goes up!
