September Beauty Favorites

Does anyone else feel like the month of September just flew by?  It definitely feels like that around here! With all of the recent changes  Liem starting school, the blog launching, and a few other exciting ventures in the pipeline  we're still adjusting to the new routine.

Speaking of, I wanted to share with you some products that I've recently incorporated into my beauty routine and have been absolutely loving this past month. In times like these, it's especially important to set aside time to do the things that make us feel beautiful, confident, and ultimately ready to conquer whatever's next on the to-do list.

Instead of using makeup remover wipes, which can sometimes feel harsh on my skin, I reach for this oil cleanser to break down my makeup at the end of a long day. This one is a mixture of sunflower seed, grapeseed, argan and rosehip oils, and it also contains soothing botanicals like aloe, chamomile, cucumber, and white tea extract. I personally like it because unlike other cleansing oils, it doesn't slip and slide all over my face, and it doesn't leave a super greasy residue. I find that it dissolves my makeup, but also gently penetrates and softens the skin. It also has a light citrus scent to it, which is nice and refreshing. Note: I use this first to dissolve my makeup, rinse with warm water, and then go in with my cleanser.

The name says it all. I love this for days I don't feel like slapping on a full-on foundation, but still want full coverage. This CC cream offers just that while still feeling light and breathable. And what's more, it's infused with anti-aging technology, antioxidants and SPF 50+ sunscreen, which all work together to improve skin texture, boost radiance, and protect from the sun's rays, which can do some serious damage, even in the winter months. This cream has a natural satin finish, and I highly recommend it for those with normal-to-dry skin. If you have combination/oily skin, it'll give you a more dewy look as it wears throughout the day. So, if you're trying to keep the oil at bay, I wouldn't recommend it. However, if you dig the dew like I do, I suggest you snag this immediately.

This has been my go-to illuminating powder for the month of September. I would recommend this for those with light complexions. The stark white and pink color combo may seem scary at first, but don't worry, it won't leave chalky streaks. Quite the opposite, it gives a subtle, pretty sheen. Swirl your brush around, picking up both shades, and swipe on the tops of your cheeks, on the bridge of the nose, above the arch of the brows, cupid's bow, or wherever the light naturally hits your face, and get ready to glow!

NYX is one of my favorite cosmetic brands because they offer high quality products at an affordable price point. These cream lipsticks have great color payoff and impressive staying power. These two shades in particular are perfect for Fall. Sandstorm is a medium neutral brown shade, while Soft Spoken is brown with rosy tones. If you're looking for something more vampy, give Vintage a go, and if you're feeling sassy, pick up Stone Fox (a blue gray shade that's on top of my wishlist)!

As far as finish, these dry matte and are slightly drying. I will say, however, that these are not as quick to flake like other liquid lipsticks I've tried. Personally, I can overlook the dryness of a lip product if it's going to last throughout the day, and this one does. If you want to try them out but are worried they'll dry out your lips, I'd recommend applying a lip primer and/or lip liner underneath so you retain the moisture of your lips and the lipstick doesn't settle into any lines.

This fragrance is on the pricey side, but I think it's well worth it because the scent is still detectable 8+ hours after application, and perhaps more importantly, it makes me feel confident, sexy, and sophisticated. It's amazing what a scent can inspire; the right one can make you feel like you can take on the world, am I right? The base notes of this perfume include Indonesian Patchouli, Haitian Vetiver, Bourbon Vanilla, and White Musk.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, let me know what you think of them in the comments! And let me know what other products you've been loving lately!
