My Current Favorite Makeup Products

Over the last few weeks, I've been experimenting with new makeup products, some of which are new launches from established cosmetic brands and others that are hidden gems I stashed in my kit once upon a time but never got around to trying myself. While there were definitely some misses, there were a lot more hits that now have a permanent spot in my everyday makeup routine:

1. NARS Cosmetics Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eye Liner in  "Rue Bonaparte"

A trick to make yourself look more awake or to make your eyes appear larger in general is to apply nude eyeliner in your bottom waterline. I like this one from NARS because it's a twist-up pencil (ones that I have to sharpen irk me) and it's creamy and pigmented, so it glides on with ease. I've been wearing this almost everyday with a pair of lashes, and I love how it opens up my eyes and makes me look less tired.

2. Limelight by Alcone Perfect Blush in "Alive"

This neutral rose-colored blush could quite possibly become a staple of mine for the Spring. It would look beautiful on light-to-medium skin tones, but would also create a nice subtle flush on darker skin. It's pigmented, not too powdery, and transitions seamlessly from day to night.

3. Dose of Colors Eyedeal Duo: Loose Pigment & Primer

I love how smart and innovative this product is. It comes in a convenient two-part compact: flip open the top for a creamy, colored primer and then twist off to reveal a sifter that dispenses beautiful light-reflecting pigment. All of the colors are gorgeous, the pigments have intense luminosity, and the primer is formulated just right so there is no fall-out, which is pretty impressive for a loose pigment.

4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer

When I first started filling in my brows, I was ride-or-die for the Anastasia dipbrow pomade. Then, I switched to brow powder since it was quicker and I didn't have to be as precise with it. Unfortunately, I couldn't achieve the same bold brow I got with the pomade. The brow definer was the perfect solution. The retractable pencil tip has a unique triangular shape, which makes it super easy to outline and fill in your brows. Not only can I achieve a sharp, defined brow with this pencil, but I can do it in seconds.

5. Anastasia Beverly Hills "Gleam" Glow Kit

Aside from the fact I've been using the shade Crushed Pearl as a highlighter nonstop for the last two weeks now, what I love about this kit is its versatility. It comes with four different shades that can be used as highlighters, blushes, blush toppers, and/or eyeshadows. The powder is finely milled, applies silky smooth, and leave a nice, natural sheen on the skin. They also offer the "That Glow" kit for medium-to-dark skin tones.

6. Dose of Colors Liquid Lipstick in "Stone"

Ever since Valentine's Day, I've been on a pink kick, so I've been reaching for lip colors in the pink family. This one by Dose of Colors is a medium pink with a slight gray undertone. While this is a matte liquid lipstick, the formula is creamy and not as drying as other liquid lipsticks I've tried, and there's next to no transfer, which is a plus in my book!

What are some makeup products you've been loving lately?
