Fresh Green Smoothie Recipe


One of my goals this year is to incorporate more greens into my diet, and smoothies are a quick and tasty way to get them in. It goes without saying that greens are good for overall health because they're chock full of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients, but eating your greens can also do wonders for your skin as they help the body detoxify and rid itself of free radicals that can lead to inflammation. Dark leafy greens like spinach in particular contain cartenoids, which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that nourish and protect the skin. Ginger, too, has anti-inflammatory properties, soothes the tummy, and along with lime juice, gives this smoothie a bright, refreshing kick. Continue reading for the recipe!

What You'll Need:

1 cup raw spinach
1/2 Anjou pear or apple
1/4 cup chopped cucumber
1/2-1 in piece fresh ginger, to taste
2-3 fresh parsley sprigs
juice of 1/2 lime 
1/3 cup cold filtered water

Instructions:

Toss all ingredients into a high-speed blender, blend until smooth, and enjoy! It's that simple!
