Peanut Butter Banana + Chia Smoothie


If you know me, then you know I love me some peanut butter. So naturally, this has become one of my favorite smoothies to make. Peanut butter aside though, this is a delicious, well-balanced smoothie that not only satisfies the sweet tooth, but also hits all the macros with its high protein content, healthy fats, and energizing carbs. Oh, and chia! Named one of the "healthiest foods on the planet," chia is a nutritional goldmine chock full of protein, omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and antioxidants. The chia seeds make this smoothie nice and filling too, so it helps curb cravings in between meals. I typically drink mine after working out to refuel my body. What You'll Need:

1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (I use Almond Breeze almond-coconut milk blend)
1 scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder
1 tbsp dry chia seeds
2 tbsp all-natural peanut butter
1 frozen banana

Directions: 

Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. If you prefer a thicker consistency, add 1/2-1 cup of ice. Also, if you want to forego the protein powder but still want that vanilla flavor, just replace with 1 tsp vanilla extract.
